Carly and Seth’s sunset maternity session on the beach was filled with such beautiful moments. The couple was visiting Hawaii to celebrate their babymoon. Carly was in her last month of pregnancy and didn’t take a single photo! They almost didn’t book a photoshoot and get this season of life documented but were so so glad that they did. I think it is so important to celebrate your seasons of life! Pregnancy is so beautiful, and should always be documented and celebrated. It goes by so quickly, and these photos are always so wonderful to have to look back on for years to come. You can also share them with your little ones when they are older as well!
Maternity Session On The Beach
The beaches of Oahu are really such beautiful spots for maternity sessions. The warm sun, gentle ocean breeze, and warm waters always make for gorgeous portraits. As with all of my shoots, I love when my couples wear comfortable clothing that really suits the environment. The couple’s minimalist outfits were perfect for this sunset maternity session on the beach and really allowed for the location and for their faces to shine and be the main focus of the photos. Carly’s dress is from Nothing Fits But – one of my favorite little shops for maternity and beyond. (I still wear mine long after having a baby!) They were even bold enough to jump in the water at the end, which made for some great shots and lots of fun!
It really was the perfect evening with this sweet couple. The last set of images almost didn’t happen! We had already wrapped up the photo session and were walking back to our cars. Seth kept turning around and walking backward to look at the sky-the sky which has been pretty monochrome and cloudy our whole time together, had transformed into one of the most incredible sunset displays I have ever seen. It really was such a surreal moment. We stopped walking and snapped more shots of a fiery sky and the sweetest crescent moon! As a mom, I have learned that it is really so important to make space for things that matter. From these moments when you first fall in love, to the moments before your baby is born, and all the time in between – these are all so precious. It is always such an honor to come into my couple’s lives and capture these sweet moments for them.
